The Ministry of Finance has announced increases to retail fuel prices for January 2026, with petrol, diesel, and kerosene all rising from their December levels.
The new prices, which apply from 1–31 January 2026, are:
- Petrol — $2.97 per litre (up 5.2 sene from $2.92)
- Diesel — $3.22 per litre (up 11.9 sene from $3.10)
- Kerosene — $2.85 per litre (up 15 sene from $2.70)
According to the Ministry, January retail pricing is based on November fuel cargo uplifts from Singapore, which were delivered into Apia in December.
The press release states that crude oil and refined product prices increased during the month, describing it as a “complicated month for the market,” with international political and economic uncertainties continuing to affect supply conditions.
A chart included in the release shows January diesel and petrol prices positioned toward the upper range of the year, with diesel remaining higher than petrol throughout most of the previous months.
The revised prices are inclusive of VAGST.
