A new monthly Samoan community meeting will begin in Manurewa on Monday, 2 February 2026, creating a regular forum for local church leaders, community groups, organisations, and Samoan residents to meet and discuss issues affecting Samoan and wider Pacific communities.

The gathering, called Rewa Community Aso Gafua, will be held on the first Monday of every month from 10am to 12pm at Manurewa Sports Centre, Mountfort Park, 180 Weymouth Road, Manurewa.

The notice says representatives from the Manurewa Local Board are expected to attend each month to support community discussions and to give residents a chance to raise concerns directly. It also notes that government agencies may attend when their support is needed for specific matters.

Organisers have asked people to confirm if they plan to attend, to help the ASA Foundation prepare morning tea before the meeting.

Following the morning session, a seniors programme called Rewa Seniors Faliu le La will run from 12pm to 3pm at the same venue. The event is open to any older person who wishes to attend and is designed to help seniors get out of the house, socialise, and take part in activities.

A Pacific buffet lunch will be provided, followed by games including bingo and cards, with seniors free to join at any time during the afternoon.

The ASA Foundation said the programmes are delivered as an unpaid community service and are not government funded, and it is seeking volunteers — including cooks and people who can help supervise activities and support the day’s programme. Anyone who can help is asked to contact Teleiai on 021 618 042.

This story is based on a community notice circulated to media by Teleiai on behalf of the ASA Foundation.
