After nearly 50 years supporting Samoa’s digital evolution, Computer Services Limited (CSL Samoa) has officially launched the CSL Digital Training Centre, a transformative initiative designed to equip individuals, businesses, and institutions with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
The launch marks a significant milestone in CSL’s journey and aligns with the company’s recent rebrand, signalling a renewed vision and strengthened commitment to shaping Samoa’s digital future.
The CSL Digital Training Centre delivers practical, industry-relevant training across key areas including basic computer literacy, workplace productivity tools, cybersecurity awareness, and emerging technologies. Programmes are accessible, hands-on, and aligned with real-world needs, ensuring participants gain skills they can immediately apply.
Trainings are delivered in partnership with MCIT and are fully accredited by the Samoa Qualifications Authority (SQA), reinforcing CSL’s commitment to quality, credibility, and globally recognised standards.
Current Microsoft Office Suite courses are facilitated by New Zealand-based digital trainer Mike Birmingham, delivered in collaboration with Lumify Group, a leading provider of digital and IT training across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. Lumify brings internationally recognised expertise in areas such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, and project management, strengthening the overall quality of delivery in Samoa.
To ensure accessibility for all communities, CSL will also introduce Samoan-language delivery for future courses while maintaining the same curriculum standards and international quality. This reflects CSL’s commitment to inclusivity and ensures digital skills training remains both world-class and culturally relevant.
Due to strong public interest, the next round of training is scheduled for May 2026, expanding access to more students, professionals, and business owners.
“This is more than just a training centre. It is an investment in people, in families, and in the future of Samoa,” said CSL CEO David Main. “Our focus is on empowering individuals and organisations with the knowledge and tools to succeed in a digital-first world.”
The launch of the Digital Training Centre reinforces CSL’s new slogan:
“Think Smart. Think CSL.”
More than a tagline, it represents a mindset that encourages smarter decisions, stronger capability, and future-focused thinking across all sectors. By embedding training into its core offering, CSL is strengthening its role not only as a technology provider, but also as a long-term partner in Samoa’s development.
The Digital Training Centre is the result of a clear vision set by CSL CEO David Main to equip and empower Samoa’s workforce with practical digital skills. That vision has been brought to life through the dedicated efforts of the CSL team, who worked to establish the centre, secure partnerships, and ensure high standards of delivery.
By combining internationally recognised curriculum with local accessibility, including future Sāmoan-language courses, CSL is ensuring participants at all levels gain the tools to succeed in a digital-first world. This initiative goes beyond technology. It is about creating opportunities, strengthening families, and building a resilient future for Samoa.
The centre is expected to benefit a wide audience, including students, job seekers, professionals, small business owners, and corporate teams seeking to upskill their workforce.
As part of its long-term vision, CSL plans to expand the Digital Training Centre to Savai’i in the coming months, improving access to training opportunities across Samoa.
As Samoa continues to embrace digital transformation, initiatives like the CSL Digital Training Centre will play a vital role in ensuring no one is left behind in a more connected and empowered future.
