Cabinet has approved a 30 percent increase in taxi and bus fares across Samoa.
The Government announced the decision in a Cabinet release dated Wednesday, 29 July 2026, saying the adjustment would apply to the current approved fare rates.
The Government said the increase was intended to help ensure public transport services remained sustainable while continuing to meet the needs of the public.
The Land Transport Authority will provide further information on how the new fares will be implemented, including the revised fare schedule and the date the increases will take effect.
Until those details are released, passengers and transport operators will need to wait for confirmation of the new approved charges.
The announcement applies to both taxi and bus services.
