This weekend, the American Samoa Community College (ASCC) will revive one of its longstanding traditions, the annual Miss ASCC Pageant. The pageant last took place in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic and other logistical challenges caused the postponement of the event until this year. Through the efforts of the ASCC Student Services Division and Student Government Association (SGA), the pageant will take place this Saturday, March 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. in the College’s Multi-Purpose Center auditorium.

“Our goal for the Miss ASCC Scholarship Pageant is to crown a student who embodies the best of the college,” said SGA Coordinator Ms. Falaileato Suiaunoa, the event’s main organizer. “The winner will be the ambassador to our students, faculty, and staff, and an honorary member of the SGA. She will represent ASCC at future events throughout her reign, encompassing the holistic view of leadership through service. All our contestants have beauty, brains, and talent, and we look forward to them showcasing their abilities for our community.”

Three contestants will vie for the title of Miss ASCC 2025-2026:

  • Ms. Glorious Tuigamala-Lisala, 19, from Leone, sponsored by the Impact Club, and pursuing studies with the College’s ACNR/Land Grant Division.
  • Ms. Anastasia Leutele, 23, from Fagaitua, sponsored by her family, and studying Liberal Arts.
  • Ms. Lolomaletaiotumua Faoliu, 20, from Nuuuli and Leone, sponsored by Le Lagaali Atelier and House of Flying Daggers.

The contestants will be judged across five categories: Chief Wear, Siva Samoa, Talent Showcase, Formal Wear, and Stage Interview. The evening’s program will also feature a performance by the ASCC Student Association for Fa’asamoa and other entertainment between segments.

Upon becoming Miss ASCC, the winning candidate will serve as an ambassador of the College, wearing her crown and sash at all official functions during her reign. She is expected to present herself in speech, actions, and dress in a manner befitting her title. Miss ASCC also serves as an Honorary Member of the Student Government Association and a representative of the institution for a full academic year.

Ms. Suiaunoa shared how the SGA has played a role in the entire pageant process, from meeting the contestants, shooting promotional photos and videos, selling tickets, building stage sets, and setting up the MPC auditorium for the event. The SGA will also serve as campus ambassadors to the event’s VIP guests and other attendees.

Suiaunoa also credited the efforts of ASCC Dean of Student Services Dr. Emilia Le’i, Pageant Committee members Lia Poloai, Ninna Balauro, Aioise Talamoni, Maria Luardo, and Eti Eti, and special advisors Ammon Fepuleai, Fatima Langkilde, and Alofia Afalava.

At the event this Saturday, doors to the MPC Auditorium will open at 5 p.m., and the pageant will begin at 6:30 p.m.
