Last Thursday morning, the Samoa Victim Support Group’s Campus of Hope welcomed a team from the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church’s head office in Lalovaea. They brought joy to the young survivors of violence housed there. The visit aimed to present a $3,000 monetary donation to the organisation, supporting the survival of child victims and abused mothers in the SVSG’s shelters.
Representing the church were the Secretary of the Samoa-Tokelau Mission, Pastor Neru Nuuialii, Treasurer Ben Tofilau, Director of the Children’s and Women’s Ministries Pelenatete Siaki, Director of the Youth Ministry and Pathfinder Clubs Pastor Tino Okesene, a representative of ADRA Samoa, and other team members.
Minister Neru Nuuialii offered a special prayer for the young boys and girls under the care of the Samoa Victim Support Group. Their sweet singing conveyed words of encouragement to these precious children.
Silinu Lina Chang, SVSG President, expressed gratitude for the church’s support. “I thank the Church for the love and care given to these children. We are immensely grateful for this help,” she stated.
The SVSG, established in 2005, relies entirely on community-donated food to support the welfare of abandoned children, those with disabilities, and all campus residents. It aims to support victims of crime, abuse, and violence.
