Samoa Tourism Exchange 2024 opens doors to international partnerships

The Samoa Tourism Exchange 2024 kicked off on Monday, 29th April 2024, at the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum, with Prime Minister Hon. Fiame Naomi Mata’afa delivering the keynote address.

This event is a great chance for Samoa to show the world its rich culture and what it has to offer in terms of tourism.

During her speech, Prime Minister Hon. Fiame Naomi Mata’afa stressed how crucial the event is for building partnerships and working closely with international travel trade partners.

With fifty-three international travel trade partners from eleven countries and fifty local exhibitors in attendance, the Samoa Tourism Exchange 2024 aims to revitalize Samoa’s tourism industry and promote sustainable growth.

“We hold the ability to influence the future of Samoa tourism, ensuring its positive impacts on communities, environmental conservation, and inclusive opportunities,” said Prime Minister Hon. Fiame Naomi Mata’afa.

I warmly welcome you to the Samoa Tourism Exchange 2024 on behalf of the Government and people of Samoa. It is a pleasure to be here for the Opening Reception of this Event.

Tonight, we gather at the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum to celebrate the opening of the Samoa Tourism Exchange 2024. Samoa is renowned for our storytelling prowess, so be prepared to be regaled with captivating tales by our charming folks during your stay.

The Samoa Tourism Exchange is a significant opportunity for the local tourism industry to engage in productive business discussions, networking opportunities, product familiarization, and knowledge exchange with our international travel trade partners. This year’s event brought together fifty-three international travel trade partners from eleven countries and fifty local exhibitors.

I wish to reaffirm the importance of showcasing our culture, hospitality, and tourism offerings. Samoa is more than just a tourist destination with amenities like hotels, rental vehicles, restaurants, and tours—it is a precious Samoan treasure characterized by its stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and warm, proud, hospitable people. Samoa offers a peaceful and safe environment for all visitors.

I am confident that the collaborations and partnerships fostered at the Samoa Tourism Exchange will contribute to the revitalization of Samoa’s tourism and its sustainable growth in alignment with one of the Government’s national priorities.
