Vaivase Primary School’s computer lab was in the process of renovation since April, but now the computer lab is ready, furnished with new desktop computers. The renovations included new air-conditioning to make the space ready for their new computers, and the lab celebrated its opening today.
Afioga Matagioo Nehru Mauala, Assistant Chief Executive of the Ministry of Education, spoke on behalf of the CEO. In his speech, he congratulated the school administration and committee for initiating the project to enhance the students’ learning experience and to provide teachers with access to free online resources.
The computer lab has been equipped with 20 new desktop computers.
The renovation, according to an article in the Samoa Observer, was funded through a collaboration between the Ministry of Women, Community, and Social Development and the TX Foundation.
“The Tzu-Xing (TX) Foundation, a philanthropic organisation based in Taiwan, has helped schools and organisations around the world,” reported the Samoa Observer on 22 April 2024.
According to a Facebook post by the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Culture Samoa this morning, the new computers were funded by the school committee.
