A total of $6,000 has been handed over to the Honourable Minister Olo Afoa Fiti Vaai, along with the board and the entire Port Authority of Samoa. Additionally, various food items and supplies for the care of the elderly at Mapuifagalele were provided.
The donation was made this morning at the home for the elderly in Vailele.
A representative of the Authority, Leiataualesa Misi Moa, stated that this marks years of consistent effort by the staff, which also reflects the strength of their service.
Leiataualesa, one of the stalwart pillars of the Port Authority, began his work in this field in 1999, the year the Authority was founded.
“This donation is also part of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Samoa Ports Authority.”
In an interview with Samoa Newshub, he mentioned that fewer than thirty people worked in the service at the beginning, but it has significantly expanded in recent times.
Yesterday, a special church service was held to mark this anniversary, and many plans have been set for this week to celebrate this milestone achieved by the staff, especially the pioneers.
