Apia, Samoa – The Samoa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) held its first monthly Members’ Meeting for the 2025 calendar year on Monday, 3rd February 2025. Hosted by Vodafone Samoa at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel, the meeting highlighted Vodafone Samoa’s key contributions during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2024 and showcased its business products and solutions.
The evening began with an opening prayer from SCCI Finance Manager Faraimo Leaia, followed by a policy presentation from Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour consultant Leilani Vaa-Tamati on the Foreign Investment Amendment Bill 2025. This opportunity for dialogue reinforces SCCI’s Public-Private Partnership with the Government of Samoa, ensuring continued engagement and feedback on relevant legislation.
The meeting’s main event featured a special presentation by Vodafone Samoa’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Tangavel Lutchmoodoo, on Vodafone’s Business Solutions and new ICT services. As the official Telecom and Digital Partner for CHOGM, Mr. Lutchmoodoo shared Vodafone’s role in designing and developing the official CHOGM website and registration portal, as well as launching 5G during the event. He also introduced Vodafone’s communications and enterprise solutions, including its role as an authorized reseller for Starlink and its Cloud Hosting services.
“The benefits of moving to the cloud include cost efficiency, innovation, transformation, and performance. It helps minimize costs and maximize returns on investment,” said Mr. Lutchmoodoo while discussing Vodafone’s Cloud Solutions.
The SCCI Members’ Meetings serve as a platform for members and the broader business community to receive updates on the work of the SCCI Executive Council and Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Chamber Vice President Tagaloa Nadia Meredith-Hunt and concluded with a networking session.
